That is all.

And so begins finals…
Written on May 19 2009

Today is “Study Monday” here at St. Thomas.   To some that means 24 hours of nonstop cramming in the stacks, to others, that means free food.  I fall in both categories.

Today I wrote two Philosophy papers in about two hours (no thanks to the people in my study group who were giving me crap about not having turned in the papers yet. I turned them in before midnight, which is when they were due, so you can all suck it).  I also went to a Philosophy study group as I just mentioned, and then wound up in the library studying for Econ with Phil.

At 10pm on Study Monday, St. Thomas has a “Late Breakfast.”  The school makes a big deal about it because the staff is serving the students the breakfast or whatever, so they spend my tuition money to pay for photographers to walk around snapping pictures of stressed, cranky students scarfing down soggy eggs while the mascot wanders around awkwardly high-fiving everyone in school colors.  I was just glad it was free 1) because I only have three meals left for the next two days and 2) it cushions the $41,000 blow of tuition.

Blah Blah Blah…
Written on May 16 2009

I cannot believe my first year of college is almost over. All my classes are done. Finals on Tuesday and Wednesday. This has been such an amazing year. The best part has definitely been my radio show. I cannot believe all of the amazing people I’ve met through my show.  I love the exec board.  So much.  I really hope I get to hang out with them more.  Hopefully the feeling is mutual.  I’ve also met a TON of really amazing bands.  My top three favorites are Kyle Dee from The Frantic, Justin Kwan from Isle of Thieves, and JD Perry from Valencia.  LOOOOOOOOOOVE.  I also got to interview Dan from Last Fast Action, Boone and Ebee of A Kidnap In Color, Bretty from The Frantic, and Japeth of Isle of Thieves, AND Danger Is My Middle Name even came into the studio.  I’m beyond stoked, and I hope I can stay in touch with as many of these guys as possible.

I am going home on Wednesday and…IIIIIIIIIIIII could not be more excited.

College has been great, don’t get me wrong, but my heard belongs in Chicago. Yeah, whatever, I’m from the suburbs, but the entire Chicagoland means the world to me.  No matter how far I travel or how long I’m gone, Chicago will always be my home.  I plan on moving back as soon as I’m done with school.  It trumps any city I’ve ever been to, and yeah, I’ve been to New York.  Chicago is better.  Sorry.

There are like ten million concerts I have to go to this summer.  OMG!  I’M GOING TO IRELAND THIS SUMMER.  FOR LIKE A MONTH.  Be prepared for better blogging and lots of pictures.  Also, I will do my best not to delete all my posts again.

love,
annie

Two weekends ago, I went to my friend Haley’s house in Northfield. I spent the weekend there, and, just before leaving, we watched it. IT WAS FANTASTIC.

Written on May 15 2009

I got this idea from Maia. I’ve always had lists of goals or just things I wanted to do, but they were always like “Things to do before I die” which is stupid, because I don’t know when I’m going to die. Now I’ve got an actual deadline with reasonable goals.
